Elvis!

I can't believe it's been almost two weeks! I have returned from the Windy City one apartment richer and quite a bit of money poorer. I found us a wonderful one bedroom apartment with wood floors and a bathroom covered in vintage tile. I couldn't be happier. No more Holly Hobbie home for me. At least not for a while. Now, of course, I have to find myself a job. We'll deal with that when the time comes - I still have a semester of teaching to finish and a replacement to train at the women's shelter.

My knitting and I haven't been hanging out much together, although we do have a date for this evening. So, I'm sorry to not have an update on the asymmetrical sweater for you. I do have some treats, though, because the sewing machine and I have been tight. We've been making stuff like this:

This will soon be part of a larger quilt. Or maybe a pillow. We'll see.

And a friend came back from Graceland with these goodies.

What are your thoughts regarding the future of this fabric? At first I was thinking: apron! Then I thought it would be too busy and campy. Then I thought: pyjamas! This was followed by the realization that there wasn't enough fabric. Pillows are definitely out, I think. Cat bed? Pot holders? Suggestions please!

P.S. Sorry about the poor quality of the photos. The digital camera got drenched in Chicago and hasn't yet recovered.

Aw, go for the apron! And maybe a potholder if you have any leftover. Unless your cat is a huge Elvis fan or a healthy sense of humor ;).

The cat bed would be fantastic!

Maybe a quilted elvis pillow? Or is that too much. I think there's no such thing as too campy when it comes to Elvis stuff...

i do like the idea of a quilted elvis pillow. or you could make a little pillow and put little pockets of stuffing on the back of each of the elvis's to make them pop out. mmmm....or an elivis pin cushion? or tea cozy? oh, this is fun...maybe an elvis bathroom curtain? or camera case?....great fabric whatever you do with it. can't wait to see....~

I like the idea of an apron too, done in a 50's era style. Or maybe, does your man wear neck ties and have a sense of humor? How about place mats? Or a knitting needle case?
