It was my payment for copy editing a pattern for Schaefer Yarns. Let me tell you folks, this is one gorgeous bunch of yummy, fluffy stuff. It's so soft, the texture is wonderful, and the color is the perfect combination of browns and yellows. The yarn is Miss Priss and the color is Chamomile. I don't yet know how it will knit up, as I've not had time to experiment, but I'll keep you all apprised.
I'm thinking of making a triangular kerchief scarf like this or this. I'm also thinking about experimenting with a red crocheted trim. My grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was little, but I have since forgotten. We'll see how that goes. Do any of you have any suggestions for good books or sites to find simple crochet trims? Any advice to give me before venturing into this territory?
How do you all photograph your yarns so beautifully? I just can't get a good representation of the colors, as you can see:

Tips? I thought that I'd be able to show off the yellow if I put it next to my pretty sea foam-y blue yarn from the Navajo Reservation. No such luck...

you edit patterns for yarn?
i would love to get paid in yarn! :) very cool.
love the idea of a triangle scarf. it looks like the perfect fit for that yarn.
as far as photos. i think yours look great.
i like to shoot in natural light only. no direct light, no flash. it has to be on a pretty bright day though. or just near a window that you can get enough natural light.
I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.
